Attorney Altovise Dehaviah Filmore was born in Columbus, Georgia. Ms. Filmore graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. She graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, and she graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She has resided in Columbus, Georgia for the last twenty-five years.
Ms. Filmore has over two decades of legal experience. She has been a member of the Georgia Bar Association since 2002. Prior to opening her firm, she was a prosecutor. Most of her expertise was developed through her former experience as a prosecutor in the Solicitor-General’s Office, where she prosecuted all misdemeanor and traffic cases in State Court. Ms. Filmore has also been an adjunct instructor for the past twenty years. She has taught at three different Colleges and Universities. She has gained much expertise through her teaching of the following: Criminal Law, Wills and Estates, Property I, Property II, Introduction to Law, Communication Law, Ethics, Civil Litigation, Torts, Family Law, Legal Systems and Terminology, Law Office Management, Legal Research and Writing, and many other writing and English courses. As an Attorney and Adjunct Instructor, Ms. Filmore has gained an extensive knowledge of the Law.
